"Very balanced, easy to learn, and yields surprises. Great replayability!" - Joshua S.

"I like the strategy...and landing a difficult combo is just so satisfying." - Nathan M.

Glyph is a dice-building, strategic combat game for two to six players, set in the fictional land Tundrus; where two tribes have vied for dominance over the region for generations. Your task is to form a team of 3 champions and defeat your opponent via the power of mysterious glyphs.

Glyph?s base mechanic is a dice building and manipulating game?inspired by games such as Roll for the Galaxy and Run, Fight, or Die! It also makes use of an inventory card drafting system, in which you will purchase everything from simple weapons, to powerful relics, in order to enhance your stats as well as give your champions unique abilities.

 GAMEPLAY

Glyph pits players against each other as they take command of a small group of champions fighting for control of the land of Tundrus. These champions have their own strengths and weaknesses and are separated by three distinct classes: Strikers, Adherents, and Guardians. Each champion has unique abilities that can only be activated via rolling specific glyph combos.

As the game progresses, your champions will gain additional dice by way of purchasing and equipping items. Some items may even provide new abilities to aid in battle. To win, be the first player to defeat all three of your opponent?s champions.

Champions

Each champion is represented by a play mat. On this mat, you will keep track of all pertinent champion information. The image below highlights these areas:

Dice

Rolling dice is a fundamental mechanic of Glyph. There are six distinct colored dice, each with a special set of glyphs that are used to form ability combos for your champions. Glyph isn?t a luck-of-the-dice game. In tandem with the rolling mechanic is the opportunity for you to re-roll selected dice, or?should the champion be powerful enough?even manipulate the dice to bend the glyphs to your will. As the game progresses, you will gain additional dice of varying types, which will require you to make strategic decisions on which dice you will use in a given circumstance.

 Item Cards

In Glyph, players not only build their pools of dice, but they also can acquire various items from a ?shop? to equip on their champions to provide additional enhancements or even new abilities. This inventory system allows players to break traditional molds of their champions? classes and try new and exciting strategies. Keep in mind, however, some cards require you to trash dice from your pool, so you need to weigh the new item benefits against the cost involved.

 Actions & Combat

You defeat your opponents by way of performing combat actions to eliminate their health cubes. While there is a lot of strategy and thought needed when choosing which champion to activate, or which item to grab, the action sequence itself is actually quite simple. Each round consists of players taking turns, activating one champion at a time. Champions then perform a series of actions, outlined in the reference card below.

You will select the dice your champion will use from his or her eligible pool and roll in an attempt to form an ability combo. You have the option to reroll any chosen dice and may even manipulate the dice in other ways based on the champion's, or equipped item's, abilities. If an ability has been rolled, you may follow the ability's instructions, or opt to simply perform a basic attack on an opponent of your choice instead.

After performing this main action, your champion proceeds to secondary actions like drafting and equipping items from the shop, or allocate left-over dice to energy and/or armor tracks. Play then passes to the other player or team to activate one of their champions.

Once a champion loses its last health cube, it is immediately defeated. All item cards and cubes on the champion mat are discarded and the mat is returned to the box. This back and forth brawl continues until only one side remains.

WHY BACK NOW?

Limited Edition Content

Your pledges provide the funding needed for Glyph to be manufactured. To sweeten the deal, we have included many special promo items that will be added to every Kickstarter copy of Glyph. These items are designated with the following icon:

These "Kickstarter Limited" items may be available for purchase or found at conventions or promotional channels in the future, but you need not worry about that. You'll get them all, FREE, when you back Glyph. It's our way of rewarding you and saying thanks for your support.

Glyph Collector's Edition

There was so much we wanted to include with Glyph, but was cost-prohibitive at the $49 entry level pledge. We decided to take these ideas and create a limited print run Collector's Edition of Glyph with all the bells and whistles. This edition will only be produced as a single print run from the Kickstarter campaign.

This premium edition will include everything in the standard box, with some nice component additions as well as upgrades.

You may have noticed some of the stretch goals are labeled "UNLEASH A GLYPH." These particular stretch goals are secret and chosen by YOU, the backers, and correspond to the banner below. These stretch goals are unlocked every 100 backers beyond the original funded count.

When we hit one of these stretch goals, I will send out a voting survey/ballot for you to pick the glyph you'd like to reveal. The glyph with the most votes after the allotted time will be flipped over, revealing the secret stretch goal. What could it be? A new champion? Unique items? Maybe some components? (HINT: Yes.) Help us unlock all five and find out!

 VIDEOS & MORE

We have several gameplay videos that highlight key mechanics to help you better visualize how to play Glyph. Please note, all the videos are using prototype components and don't reflect the end-quality of the game.

There's also a link to our Rulebook Preview, for those that want to peruse it for gameplay specifics.

SHIPPING

Shipping fulfillment is a concern for both backer and creator. Too often are these costs underestimated, or shipments handled poorly. I want shipping to be as simple as possible for our backers. So here it is:

Domestic Hub (USA/UK) shipping is FREE--that is, it is included in your $49 pledge.

International backers: Shipping will be charged after the campaign via our pledge manager. See the chart below for estimated shipping costs.

To help reduce these costs and simplify getting Glyph to your door, we are working with other fulfillment companies for international regions depending on demand. Unfortunately, if we cannot set up a fulfillment hub in your region, you may be liable for import taxes and fees.

The actual shipping costs may change based box size & weight (depending on stretch goal unlocks), and postage rate changes between now and delivery.

Backers who do not complete their pledge manager by the deadline, may need to have their rewards shipped from the USA. This may incur additional shipping charges to international backers. Don't worry, backers will receive email notifications and given a generous deadline to submit the required info and payment.

Also, due to the size of the rewards and risk of returns, we cannot ship to PO Boxes domestically or internationally.

PRODUCTION TIMELINE

Here's an estimated timeline for Glyph's production schedule. While every attempt is made to provide ample time for each step of the process, there is always the possibility of delays. I commit to being transparent and provide periodic updates with the production progress.
